Twenty-five years ago, the Rodney Strong Wine Club was born out of a simple idea: bring together people who share a love of exceptional Sonoma County wine. Today, that idea has grown into a thriving community of passionate wine lovers, and we couldn’t be more grateful for every member who has been part of the journey. This year, we raise a glass to you.

Letter from Katy
Wow – 25 years. Really?
It sounds cliché to say, “Time flies when you’re having fun,” but it really has been such an amazing ride for me. I tell people all the time that I truly love my job and am so fortunate to have what I think is the best job in the company (shhhh – don’t tell my co-workers that!).
When I was a wee lass, I wanted to be an airline stewardess (that’s what they were called back in the day) but now I know that never would have worked for me because I’m actually kind of afraid of flying. In my twenties, I was studying to become a teacher, but life had other plans and I was pleasantly surprised to find that my path was to start a family instead.
Then, 29 years ago, I stumbled into the wine industry. I worked at a winery in Sonoma for four years and then came to Rodney Strong.
Coincidentally I started here the same year the wine club was created. To this day, we still have current club members that signed up that very first year and they are all dear to my heart, even though I have never even met a few of them in person!
When the club started, it was called “The Collector’s Circle” and featured our Estate and Reserve wines. A few years later, after we began producing higher-end Cabernets from our Alexander Valley vineyards, we created the “Symmetry Society” to showcase those wines. Fast forward a couple years later to the incredible wines from Cooley Ranch, which inspired what is now our “Elevation Society”, featuring Single Vineyard Cabernets and wines from ROWEN Wine Co. Along the way, “Symmetry Society” evolved into “Symmetry Collection”.
Through it all, our goal has always been connecting our members with the wines they love the most. Needless to say, the club has grown and changed over these two decades and it’s been such a joy to be part of that evolution.
I have so many wonderful memories of Tasting Room experiences, special events, and long phone calls and in-person conversations with our club members. Those memories are treasures that I will cherish forever.

Meet Katy
Katy Turner is the Wine Club Manager at Rodney Strong Vineyards, where she is described as the heart and soul of the club. She has celebrated over 25 years with Rodney Strong, making her one of the winery’s most dedicated and long-serving team members. Known for being extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, she is regarded as a very positive representative for the winery. Her commitment to the club and its members has left such a lasting impression that Rodney Strong named a wine club exclusive red blend in her honor, Katy’s Blend.
