World Central Kitchen is a non-profit that uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. WCK has created a new model for disaster response through its work helping devastated communities recover and establish resilient food systems. Their work during COVID-19 has been invaluable – feeding marginalized and vulnerable communities while supporting struggling restaurants and their teams. Responding to crises domestically and abroad, WCK has supported those affected by natural disasters, refugees, asylum seekers and first responders, as well as promoting resilient food systems by training hundreds of chefs and school cooks, advancing clean cooking practices, and awarding grants to farms, fisheries and small food businesses while also providing training and networking opportunities.
