Tasting Notes
Inky hued, nearly opaque, with intense aromas of well ripened red and black fruits, toasted earth, and spicy vanilla, this quite rich cabernet is concentrated and expansive on the palate, while remaining round and relatively soft given its ample structure, and is followed by a long, broad and seductive finish.

Established in 1994, the Rockaway vineyard site is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and includes all five of the classic Bordeaux varieties. Rising to an elevation of 750 feet, the site slopes to the northeast and southwest, with gravelly clay sub-soils over fractured sandstone. The well-drained, low-pH soils encourage the production of small berries in the clusters. In the glass, this translates to bold, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon with juicy red and black fruit character and an elegantly round and seductive mid-palate.
Reviews
“92 points - Impressive for its richness, focus, depth and finesse, with a mix of black fruit, black licorice and road tar flavors. For all its apparent size, this is graceful, elegant and imminently approachable. Drink now through 2024. - J.L.”

“90 points - There are lots of rich blackberry, cherry and currant flavors in this dry young wine. You’ll also find the dried herb flavor that often characterize Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a bit high in alcohol and doesn’t seem to be an ager, but it’s finely crafted. – S.H. ”
