Saturated ruby/purple color, with powerful aromas and flavors focused on ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, espresso, and essence of cassis, this deeply flavored, mouth-filling and ultra-rich cabernet is draped in velvety tannins, and lingers deliciously long on the finish.
- Total Acidity:
- 0.63 g/100 mL
- 25 months in 100% French oak barrels, 49% new
- Brothers Ridge
- Fact Sheet:
High in the hills east of the small town of Cloverdale, Brothers Ridge is planted nearly all to Cabernet Sauvignon, with small blocks of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Soils are well-drained loam over sandstone, shale and ancient greenstone. With elevations rising to over 1000 feet, its primarily western-facing slopes help the vines capture the full warmth of the afternoon sun, ripening the Cabernet well into the chocolate and black fruit profile, with exceptional richness.
“93 points - This nearly 100% Cabernet is strongly flavored...the concentrated richness of grapes grown on low-yielding hillsides. Intense flavors of blackberries, black cherries, cassis, cola and herbs mark this fine, ageable wine.”
- Wine Enthusiast May 2011
“90 points - ...full, weighty and very rich,..with sustained black cherry fruitiness. Richness.. will remain its forte. Sure to improve and wants five or more years of age.”
- Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine April 2011
“90 points - Firm and complex, with a tight range of cedar, dried currant and blackberry, cherry, mineral and loamy earth flavors. Full-bodied, tight, focused and well-structured, with a long finish.”
