Tasting Notes
This malbec is very rich and deeply colored, with intense aromas and flavors of black plum, blackberry, oriental tea and brown spices, all wrapped with soft tannins and leading to an ultra long finish. We aged this bold wine for 15 months in the finest French oak, much of it new. the combination of spicy oak and ripe black fruits makes for a brilliant introduction for a new wine that you’ll happily save a place for at the table! This very limited bottling is available only to collector’s circle members and at the winery. enjoy it over the next 3 to 6 years.

After many years of evaluating the Malbec grape in Sonoma County, we are proud to introduce our first ever release of Estate Vineyards Malbec! A grape with a long and noble international heritage, Malbec has proven to be particularly well suited to the unique climate and soil combinations of the Dry Creek and Alexander Valley regions. although we have been using Malbec as a blending grape in our Meritage, the exceptional quality of the 2008 vintage provided us with a small amount of Malbec suited for a special bottling.
