This property once grew specialty bamboo for making premium reeds used in wind instruments. Planted to 22 acres of merlot and the rest cabernet sauvignon, soils here are predominantly gravelly loam, with black bands of heavy clay cutting through like ribbons. With an excellent view of the nearby Alexander's Crown vineyard, we have great expectations that this new property will provide grapes of a similar first-class quality.
