Charlotte's Home Vineyard
Alexander Valley - 45 acres, Established 1971, Replanted 1991 and 1994
Tucked between a bend in the Russian River and the Alexander's Crown, the deep soils and gravel lenses of this vineyard favor Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Named after Rod's wife and former dance partner, Charlotte's is harvested in several passes; the gravel areas first, which ripen readily and provide ripe pear and melon character, while the later ripening, vines on deeper soil provide lively crisp citrus flavors. Charlotte's Home Vineyard is the heart of our Charlotte's Home Sauvignon Blanc.
