January 05, 201021st Annual Wine & Chocolate Fantasy at Rodney Strong Vineyards
Rodney Strong Vineyards continues it’s annual Wine & Chocolate Fantasy in 2010, this year on Saturday, February 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is in its 21st year and will be held at their winery in Healdsburg. The barrel room will be transformed into a sea of raspberry and pink to celebrate Valentine’s Day and a delicious line up of top notch chocolatiers will be spread throughout with along with Rodney Strong’s finest wines. Local radio personality Ziggy the Wine Gal will again emcee and Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88’s will provide their boogie woogie blow out as the featured music this year. Additionally, Jeff Mall from Zin Restaurant & Wine Bar will perform two chocolate cooking demonstrations. Join the celebration and saunter through the barrel room sipping wine, tasting chocolates and sharing this delectable occasion with your Valentine.More Info

Rodney Strong Vineyards Becomes Exclusive Wine Partner of Wells Fargo Center for the Arts
Santa Rosa, Ca. (October 19, 2009) -- Rodney Strong Vineyards, one of Sonoma County’s finest family owned and operated wineries, is joining the non-profit Wells Fargo Center for the Arts as the Center’s exclusive wine partner. Beginning October 21 with the performance of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Rodney Strong wines will be poured exclusively at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts performances and events, with all proceeds benefiting the Center. The new three-year partnership will provide a cash sponsorship and an in-kind donation to help support the Center’s arts and education programs, including its Education Through the Arts program serving 30,000 students every year.More Info

Rodney Strong Vineyards Becomes Sonoma County's First Carbon Neutral Winery
HEALDSBURG, CA – October 15, 2009 – Rodney Strong Vineyards owner, Tom Klein, announced today that, in an effort to fight global warming, the company’s winery and vineyards have achieved carbon neutral status. This makes the winery the first in Sonoma County to become carbon neutral. The winery recently became a member of The Climate Registry (theclimateregistry.org), where they will calculate and report emissions of winery and vineyard greenhouse gases, allowing the company to mitigate and offset those emissions.More Info

Rodney Strong Vineyards Celebrates 50-year Anniversary
On Saturday, June 27 at the home of winery owner, Tom Klein, friends, family and wine industry dignitaries gathered to celebrate Rodney Strong Vineyards’ golden anniversary. Strong started the business in 1959 by buying and blending wine that he and his wife, Charlotte then sold. Rod, who passed away in 2006, was one of the first to plant pinot noir in Russian River Valley in the late 1960s, the first to vineyard designate a Sonoma County cabernet sauvignon with the 1974 vintage of Alexander’s Crown and the first to produce and label a chardonnay from Chalk Hill in 1977. Chalk Hill became an American Viticultural Area in 1983.More Info
