Our founder, Rodney Strong, was a longtime supporter of the Sonoma County arts community and a believer in giving back to the community. Today, we proudly continue Rod's tradition by supporting the following community organizations:
Wells Fargo Center for the Arts
Wells Fargo Center for the Arts serves to enrich, educate, and entertain the North Bay community by providingaccessible and outstanding arts, family, and entertainment performances, leading education programs, contemporary artwork, and community use of our facility.
THE LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION
The Lance Armstrong Foundation – known for its powerful brand LIVESTRONG – serves people affected by cancer and empowers them to take action against the world’s leading cause of death. The Team LIVESTRONG Challenge Series brings thousands of supporters together at events across the country to walk, run, ride and raise funds and awareness for the unified global moment on behalf of the 28 million people living with cancer today.
United Way & AIRS 211 The United Way & AIRS 211 Information & Referral Search, providing free and confidential help with food, housing, employment, healthcare, counseling and more, is also supported by Rodney Strong Vineyards. In 2011, Rodney Strong Vineyards will make an additional commitment through the United Way to help communities feed the hungry. Our donation to food banks across the U.S. through United Way will provide the equivalent of over 150,000 meals to people in need.
Redwood Empire Food Bank
The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB), Sonoma County's largest hunger-relief organization, acquires food and distributes it in Sonoma County through its own food assistance programs. It also provides food to Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties through local organizations. Our donation to Redwood Empire Food Bank will provide the equivalent of over 19,500 meals to people in need.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee was founded in 1978 by a group of citizens who were concerned about their hungry neighbors. We rely on a network of growers, manufacturers, wholesalers, grocery stores, and individuals to donate food that we distribute to the community through more than 400 not-for-profit agencies in 46 counties in Middle Tennessee. Our donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee will provide the equivalent of 28,000 meals to people in need.
